All very good images. Nice and sharp and nice bright colours.

Very good Bob - did you just use the basic controller or did you have the solenoid add on too?

Cheers Alan and Adrian - I use the solenoid kit - much more controllable than the droplet sensor.

Thanks Bob.

I have the basic kit and have been tempted to dig it out.

I fancy the solenoid for the reason bs you say - just quite a few ££££!

Any chance of photos of your set up?

Thanks

Adrian, I have my gear setup at my local camera club, Im going over tomorrow so I'll try and get a pic, its all a bit messy though, nothing really permanent. solenoid on a lab stand at about 60cm, 80x40x5 tray one flash either side and two behind the backdrop. I copied a flash trigger setup used by ramigrfx on flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/ramigrafx/7488537496/in/set-72157630059043531 if you message him he will send the circuit diagram.

Great set. I love doing collisions but I don't have a drip kit anymore :( I'll probably end up getting another at some point or find someone who can make me one. How do you get the tendrils so high? I normally mix up some gum mix for the drops so they are heavier.

I've just been getting lucky really with the high shots, only thing I had on the tray is water with a couple of drops of washing up liquid, I think temperature plays a big part as they usually start low and build up to height. I use xantham gum in the droplet solution with a bit ink for colour

Yeh that's just the same as what I use for the drops, etc. Is it the Splash Art kit you use, the kit that comes with a lab stand for about £180?

No I use the phototriggers kit, check it out on these very forums :)

This is where I was getting confused before. I type phototriggers in Google and it comes up with the guy that does the Splash Art kit lol. Having a look on the forum now and struggling to find any sort of solenoid kit. Looking to get another one again.

Indeed. I went and sold my Splashart kit a while ago, wish I hadn't now. I've made a temporary solution for now out of aquarium tubing and an air flow restrictor :D Just gotta dig out my Xanthan gum and food colouring now.

Ive just dug my kit out going to try and remember how to do them.
