You can only see riders (all important) faces in one picture and that needs cropping in more to get rid of the annoying white van

Shoot from head on to 45° off centre on the rider's right and stay tight on the subject. Also the aperture on these is far too narrow. Open up a lot more.

Thanks for the comments - don't normally shoot things like this - I went f8 as the Fuji is not the quickest to focus so wanted to give myself some margin for that...

There were crops too - and did n't want to push the cropping too much and lose quality so tried to show the horses and riders in the event/arena rather than picking them out -

Cheers for feedback though - those horses were moving pretty quickly so I'm surprised I got anything half-decent....

and yes they were mainly heads action towards the crowd and I could n't really shoot from the crowd side as the background was not great....
