Sparrowhawk mantling

Awesome, that's some look he's giving you in the 3rd. It's a very active hide with lots of different species, mammals too. I only saw the male once for about 3 seconds on my visit there last March but the female was pretty active, as well as a kestrel.

Mind me asking what aperture Mike? The backgound is lovely and mushy.

All taken with a 1dx and 500mm, the last with a 1.4x added.

1 was ISO 3200 1/500th f5
2 was ISO 3200 1/250th f7.1
3 was ISO 6400 1/320th f9

Thanks Mike, the BGs are very well handled. Sounds like you had typical Scottish lighting from those settings.
