I like a lot of things about this image but I feel like the motion in the splash detracts a little, I wonder if I should have gone for higher ISO and a faster shutter to freeze the motion more, at the cost of some image quality...

Looks cool but the foreground (the concrete) doesn't do much for me.

Thanks, I'm not sure how I feel about it either. On the one hand I felt like I needed to show where/why there's a big splash of water, on the other - concrete isn't very exciting.

Try cropping 25% off the bottom - the concrete mostly goes away & focuses the eyes on the better parts of the scene.

Thanks Toni, I messed with a few options on the cropping, this was my preferred result, I always get uncomfortable moving away from standard framing sizes...



I did try trimming out more of the concrete but it ended up being too thin of a slice, so this is where I ended up.

I sometimes use 16:9 as a 'standard' frame size because that's the same as a wide screen monitor.

It looks like there’s a clear grad line in the wave, I’d look to fix that if you can
