A few taken today, all these were on the same piece of wood which I had carried into the kitchen to get out of the very cold biting wind. All taken on the Venus 2:1 lens, with flash, or natural light, or a combination of both!

Some good shots Paul, with some very fine detail. Agree with Bryn some of the shadows do look a bit dark. My favs though would have to be #2 & #4.

Great series, it's amazing what lives on a single piece of wood. I like them all but I like how the contrast came out on the 4th. It has great depth, and you can almost pick it up!

Thanks Tim - I had the camera at the angle more or less - and I thought the dark mirrored the light for cause and effect, with the warmth in the middle serving it's purpose.
