Whilst not actually close up or macro, I have a question about still life and thought this to be the mos appropriate part of the forum.
A few days ago I went to take some photos of a new cafe that a friend has opened, she wanted some of the place itself, some of the customers, and some of the food on offer. So, I went with my EOS 7D, selection of lenses and a tripod and set myself up next to a table for the food shots. Camera set to manual focus, IS off and ready to shoot at a few aperture settings with ISO 100 to see which looked the best for their website. I used both my 50mm f/1.8 and 24-105mm f4/L lenses in the most part, and even at f/22 I was surprised as to how 'relatively' shallow the DOF was.
Is this something you just have to accept, or are there any tips and tricks to get more in focus?
