A national music magazine asked me to cover a concert
saying that they would appreciate negative space on all
portraits for a short paragraph of biographic notes…

Love the shot of the mixing desk. (y)

That take surprised many at the redaction but no one pushed
it away. The mixing console is usually far back beside the ligh-
ting control bank and since I often shoot with the 300 ƒ2,8, I'm
right among them… and could'n resist.

Good morning and cheers Grahame! :)

Thanks David. I removed the second mic
in #6 to allow for more negative space.

Top shots,Daniel. Glad I 'called in' to this section. There's life outside 'Birds' after all...:D

There's life outside 'Birds' after all..

Thanks, for sure John! :)

Two years ago, I was discovering the marsh very close to where
I moved my studio and residence in 01/2018. Two years ago as
well, I took advantage of the marsh to relax as often as possible
and I started capturing marsh scenes and the ever challenging
birds — I never shot birds before. I was happy to learn from bir-
ders but realised that this was not the best idea really. I describe
myself as an image hunter… not a birder.

Like you so rightfully say: "There's life outside 'Birds' after all!" :D

Nice shots Daniel, as usual. My only point would be that the head of the instrument should be treated as we do hands, in other words, not chop them off. It spoils the appearance of the guitars.

The mixing deck shot is my favourite, lovely ‘rendition’ as you would say.

nice removal job, but I think I like the second mic in #3 ... adds glitz whilst not obstructing his priceless facial features.

Thanks man!

The AD and I are long time friends and we play guitar at least once a
month in our band just for serious fun.

He works for the magazine and, as I have the veto on rendition, he has
his for the page composition / cropping… his decision. I see what you
mean though.

The AD was not happy with neither because of the insufficient
negative space… until I suggested to get rid of the second mic.

Thanks again! :)
