Sundhnúkur eruptions

Since i recently got a new drone and I was lucky enough to get some photos of the previous volcano eruption, I wanted to share some photos with you.
This is not the ongoing eruption, but instead the one that stopped about a month ago.
The ongoing eruption is closed and people are not alowed to go close enough to fly a drone to it.

Here is a photo from the first flight. I found a spot where I could fly the drone 4km to reach the volcano. I was extremly happy with this photo but I knew I had to try it again.

Few days later I went again. Got the picture I wanted, Simular like the top one but with details in the shadows.

After looking at the previous photo for some time I saw it was missing light, and detail to the picture, it felt just "bland". But still I was extremly happy with it also, but it wasnt perfect.

They had opened the are to drive a bit closer to the town of Grindavík. I saw there was a walkway that went straight to the Volcano, it was "closed" but there was just a sign there saying that if you go this road you are doing it on your own risk. So i went there and it was amazing!
The previouse eruptions that you were alowed to walk closed to it was always a 4 hour walk one way and a very hard walk, walking over the mountains just to see the volcano far away.
This was something else, just a 40 min walk one way and you were extremly close to it!

Here I was luck and the sun was on its way to set, so I got some good light on the photos.

the photo is possibly too dark and I still have to tweak the brightness a little bit before I print it, but this was my dream shot!

While I was there I ofcourse took some more photos with diffrent angles.

Too bad that the ongoing volcano is closed off from more than 8km away.
I'd love to go again and try to get even better photos.

I used the DJI Air 2S.
Very happy with it and the picture quality is great!

It looks like i might be ablento send the drone to the new volcano tomorrow. They are opening the bluelagoon tomorrow, that means the road to the blue lagoon will be open. the bluelagoon is a natural hotspring "pool" that is very popular amongst tourists. It is only 2km away from the volcano.

The volcano is only 15 min from the airport, so it wouldn't need to be a long trip!

Today I was able to fly my drone to the ongoing volcano!
I was only able to fly the drone 2 times before my controller was out of battery, the flight distance was 4km to the volcano with a bit of a wind so I couldnt take alot of photos.
Hopefully tomorrow or day after will have good weather for flying so I can get some more great photos!
