A pretty sunset down at St Marys Lighthouse in whitley Bay the other night.

Canon 6D + 17-40L
Lee 0.6 hard grad + 0.6 soft grad

1 - 0.4 seconds // f16 // 17mm // ISO50



2 - 30 seconds // f9 // 17mm // ISO50 // Lee little stopper



3 - 1.6 seconds // f16 // 17mm // ISO50

Strong lighting and pp. And a good take on a very photographed subject.

1st for me. Nothing wrong with the others but they are messier and don't lead in as strongly as the 1st.

Someone will mention the central horizon in one but I wouldn't change anything about it
 
Like the first one - the contrast of the grass and sky makes it work in a way that the beach versus sky doesn't, and it has the bonus that the lighting on the lighthouse itself is better, and the subject for me works best with a landscape rather than a portrait perspective.
 
number 1 for me, nice to see a different view of what must be the most photographed lighthouse in the world! The cloud is great!

I think #1 is the strongest and would be tempted to try a crop from the bottom so that the railing starts at the bottom right corner. Just tried it on the screen and IMO it adds a little more (y)
