In a live conversation with @BillN_33 , he suggested I consider
starting a Swan thread.

I have to admit that his communal bird thread is a blast of fun
with a couple of bird knowledgeable folks and a fair amount of
groovy shooters… many of them improving very fast as I saw.

https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/t...u-seen-today-–-communal-thread-i-hope.608346/

So, ok! Herewith, I start a Swan thread that I hope will be, as
Bill's bird thread, a communal Swans thread.
————————————————————————————

Unfortunately, I have little time (and even less access) to shoot
wildlife subjects to my heart's content. The best I can do is to go
to the near by marsh and take what I can.

After noticing I was visiting the marsh quite often and always for
a quite short time at each visit, some one asked me:
—"…you must have enough of the same birds by now, aren't you
tired of them?"— My answer was: "You'd be right bloody well right
if I was shooting birds, I am shooting not the birds but the light
that falls on them… and this is ever changing, stimulating, exciting.

Taken a few days ago at one of the local salt marshes in East Kent.
I've recently taken an interest in bird photography - not easy at all, and I've not seen too many Swans on the marsh.

I suppose it's a male - or he is a male

…big bump on the face and vivid orange…

Though not yet in full maturity, it is a male, Bill!

I fear something went wrong in the processing
of that file, Norm, could we see an untouched
version of it?

Nothing special from me;

…but it is a scene I never get cause the marsh
in is a woodland. The only way the swans may
get to land is to fly away… I don't know where. :(

My pick of old ones

Since you got them unearthed, maybe it's your
chance to revisit the PP as your take are worth it.

What means "photobombed" in this case?

This kinda of fellow is not to be seen at the marsh…
I would like very much to study a black swan instead
of the now too predictable white one… I imagine they
must be quite difficult under given lights!

'Photobombed' is taking a picture of one subject. and another gets in on the act either purposely or accidentally!

as this boy is doing it for PLEASURE!
