Wild Swans! …post them in this communal thread.

Rubber Soul

Hi Gary,
The first makes me wish I had a chance to
work on the original.

The second is a tad too dark but the chosen
moment is cute!

…what a nice day…

Yes but I meant the RAW original…
too much data gone lost with the conversion.

Lovely scene and tones…
but a swan is white I think and though
I see no wrong in your rendition, may
I suggest this WB corrected one…

(well, five.....)

One bright swan multiplied by 5
does that make 5 times brighter?

My first impression is that you did
not PP'ed that take, Jeremy!

Thanks, I like the white. I did consider making it more white in pp but I couldnt get it how I liked it, and the one I posted was more representative of the light and colours when it was taken, although I did brighten it a bit. It was an odd day, for a while the sky had a purple tint and some shots of some Egrets that we saw had a light shade of pink :)

That begs the question:

"What the hell is your weatherman smoking?" :D

You're probably thinking the whites are blown? In fact, in the original, they aren't; it must be the jpeg conversion that has done it. However i agree that the blue is a bit wishy-washy. This is probabaly an improvement.

We have rather frequent showers these days,
stormy one! That won't stop me going to the
marsh as these weather conditions offer some
interesting light!
