Good set. Steam and Winter, always a great combination.

The B&W is exactly the right way to show it, really good shots. The difference can clearly be seen with the first two platform photos. Also, with the one 'off mainline' shot getting down has made a huge difference and gives the loco a real presence and to have the area to yourself too was a real bonus. Good human element with the last one and the digger truck looks more efficient than the old days when a crane and bucket on a rail was used.

Tangmere must be the smokiest steam loco in the country. I've been told it uses cheap Polish coal which is very smokey.

Obviously,as it's still going well, this incident back in September wasn't as bad as it looks http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ars-fire-trick-light-passes-Devon-tracks.html

Thanks John, certainly is a smokey loco, cheap polish coal eh, never come across that. The shot in the yard was not expected at all, I follwed everyone else and this was the reward and getting thecoaling shots was a bonus too.
