Very nice. We actually had plans to go here in April but it got cancelled :(
Definitely want to visit one day.

Thanks. It's still in the travel corridor for the UK, so not so bad at the moment. We'd planned for April too, Athens first, then Lesvos, and we re-arranged the trip for now, but after Lesvos was quarantined we did a quick re-arrangement again and stayed on the eastern Attica coast. The city itself is interesting and feels distinctly non-European, even compared to Spanish or Italian cities.

Lovely :)! I lived in Athens for 18 years - it's my second hometown (I'm a Brummie):D!

Thanks Elizabeth. Athens has been on my bucket-list for years, and this was our first visit despite this trip being our 9th to Greece. I'd love to try living there for a while, but it's just not practical, sadly. :)

I see they've got the builders in again - it'll look nice when it's finished :)

Leaving the room now

They replaced the crane a couple of years back. TBH I think it's always going to be a building site, because tourism will always be secondary to the symbol. And they really are VERY grumpy about Elgin and those marbles.
