Every Zeiss lens I’ve used has some sort of fringing, recognised it straight away. Surprised the Samyang is better, though! What % crop is that?

Timing is everything, I bought a couple of external HDD's last week, and looks like I could have saved about £30 on one of them.Samsung T3 1TB SSD USB 3.1 for £183 at Maplin folks!!
£382 at Amazon UK
Needless to say I bought one

Apparently Sony issued a recall on the FE 50mm f/1.4 (it was news to me anyway), you can check your serial here: https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/support/serial-number-checker/SEL50F14Z

Samyang is a fraction slower in AFS, AFC they are the same, both speedy.

"Sony has recently become aware that some units of the SEL50F14Z Planar T* FE 50mm F1.4 ZA lens have been found to have instances of fogging inside the lens.

The rumor site... Meike 85mm f1.8... APS-C? FF? I guess time will tell. My initial thought was that it looks very compact for a FF 85mm f1.8 but it's just a bit longer than the Sony 55mm f1.8 and the Sony one will I suppose have a built in spacer We'll have to see if this is indeed a ff lens but if it is it might be worth a look.
