Love it!! Great use of narrow aperture to keep everything in sharp focus, would not be the picture it is otherwise. Great capture.
 
Oh that's really nice. Great composition, the fires open, telling the story and then his look leading to the pipe work so your yes travels all over the image. Very good indeed.

Far more interesting than ¾ views of some random engine.

It's good to have some human interest in such shots.

His gaze seems a bit weird and almost posed. As he is on the firemans side of the engine rather than the driver's, a shovel in his hand and attention to the firebox might have helped.

Good exposure combined in a difficult situation of the open firebox doors coupled with the generally dim areas of the cab.
