1. No flash

I was inspired by so many shots in this thread I thought I'd better give it a try. My god, I thought getting macro shots of static bugs was hard.

339 shots later I got this:

I useed my 55-250mm with a 36mm extension tube. Natural light (OMG!) so pumped up the ISO to 1600. Bit of a crop for compo.

That is brilliant Tim need to check that out on bigger screen but looks really good, I love this thread some smashing captures

Moth Inflight....

Now these things have beaten me 300 shots and this is the best... I'm putting them up as on of the hardest animals to capture in flight (gonna get proven wrong now I know)

That second shot is a leaf cutter bee
The collect pollen one the hair underneath their body to make a ball for their larvae in the nest they make.

These are Emperors, not Southern Hawkers and the last one is Black Darter.

Great shots of the Emperor, which is a tricky because they never stop!
