The lonely phone

in recent months I have started taking pictures of our old red phone boxes after reading an article about them slowly disappearing altogether and in 5 years estimated to be less than a thousand in the whole country left - 30yrs ago we had over 80000 so going down fast

here is one I did at night

Stars have quite a bad blue halo though, reducing the blue channel in just the top half of the shot removes it

I always wondered why they weren’t repurposed to WiFi hotspots or something like that given that they all have a phone line.
