A vignette may have the benefit of
• taking the viewer in a precise area of a shot,
• telling about an intimate conviviality during an event… for example.

How much of it? Let your story telling and good taste decide!
 
I'm hungry now - so the photograph works!

I'm not keen on the vignette either, it seems to dominate the right side of the image.

vignette definitely detracts from what is a great photo

that settles it...vignette is out hell or high water...earwigo!
