nothing special, but i got to play with the sigma 35mm 1.4 on the a7rii today. needless to say these were shot wide open with manual focus.
I know it's not impossible mate, I've shot f1.4 mf but wait till she's 3-4 and moving about a lot faster then show me an 80% hit rate.
My hit rate was about 3%
Lol. Thought so. Top lens. Cute kid.
Wonder why that bloke hasn't gotten back to you about the d800, was a solid offer imo.
Yeah just when I was leaning toward a d750.
I've had the d800, nice camera, buy the d750 suits me better. I don't need the res.
Was thinking the same. But at the price I've offered its not a bad deal
Were you using peaking? My hit rate was about 3%

More pictures would be nice, haven't had the free time coinciding with anything like weather worth shooting in here so just haven't bothered.
Thinking of renaming this thread the Nikon love in thread... I suppose there's zero chance of reducing the Nikon stuff just a teeny tiny bit and talking about the A7 series and lenses a bit more?
I think there's probably a threat for Nikon owners...
Just gets a bit repetitive for me as a non DSLR guy. I know they have their good points but I'm just no longer interested in them.
Maybe just bring the whole DSLR thing up when it's more relevant.
That's all...
Were you using peaking?
I wont claim 100% but you could probably get 3% with a blindfold on

As I've said many times: Horses for courses. Mirrorless won't replace dslr for many reasons and mirrorless has its place in the market also.
Stop feeling threatened. What works for you works for you. End of. One system can't do everything.
Let's just enjoy photography shall we.
Ah but one day... and it'll be a MIRRORLESS CAMERA!!!! mwaahahahah!!!!
And on the other topic, perhaps I shouldn't have started this but I just thought it would be nice if we could maybe talk about Sony A7 series kit just a little bit and just every few pages or so whilst we're having a bit of a rest from the Nikon love in and we should all buy one NOW posts that seems to be prolific in this thread
Anyway back on topic...
Before I went digital I shot Nikon for knocking on for a couple of decades. Back then I mostly shot cars and bands and people at gigs and events mostly with free or at least cheap ISO 1600 film and a bog standard zoom... and back then I/we had no idea that the DSLR market was being watched closely by intelligences greater than Canikons and yet as mortal as their own. I/we know now that as Canikon busied themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinized and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinize the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. With infinite complacence DSLR designers went to and fro over the earth about their little affairs, serene in the assurance of their dominion over this small spinning fragment of solar driftwood which by chance or design DSLR's had inherited out of the dark mystery of the death of Kodak and film. Yet across an immense ethereal gulf, minds that are to the minds of Canikon DSLR designers as theirs are to the beasts in the jungle, intellects vast, cool and unsympathetic, regarded the camera market with envious eyes and slowly and surely drew their plans against Canikon...
