Take me or I’ll go on the bus ?......and put myself at higher risk. Sounds like emotional blackmail to me. A bit naughty, really.
Youre being a lot nicer than is deserved IMO

Bob is a C-unit. (Well, that's the tag line, anyway.)
He doesn't listen to expert/scientific advice.
He goes out without a good reason.
(I think) he's stockpiling non-perishable foods.
He doesn't wash his hands frequently.
He thinks that the virus isn't going to get him.
He doesn't realise that his behaviour might prolong the period of confinement.
The article is printed on toilet paper? although that's too fine a job for the Mail.
I hope not as there is a current shortage of toilet paper
some people deserve a slap.

There were shelves absolutely full this morning in Asda, you could have bought all the greeting cards, kitchen wares, even tinned paint....but sadly little in the way of tinned foods, flour ( it's astonishing how all of a sudden we have become a nation of bread bakers), eggs and meat sustitute products. I did'nt bother looking for loo roll, we have some anyway.
Same here, I have included a bag of strong flour as part of an online order with Sainsburys for next week, it will be interesting to see if any turns upIt's annoying because I generally do bake our own bread and now I can't get any bloody bread flour.

Well the Chinese government are still in denial about the source of the outbreak, that says it all about them.
Look at the position they took on the Chinese doctor that tried to warn the world. Yes all governments can manipulate figures to suit their agenda, it’s just some are worse than others, namely China.
If they get over the hump before us do you think we could fly a few patients out there?Sky news reporting that Italy have more hospital beds per capita than the UK, very concerning.

For anyone who has never seen the classic Picolax thread from Singletrack's forum (a mountain biking forum IIRC), here's a link... https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/the-first-of-the-lost-threads-the-picolax-classic/

Seeing as how not even the scientists (from all over the globe) have definitively identified the actual source of the initial outbreak, I’d hardly say the Chinese government are ‘in denial’ about it. You comments say more about your own paranoia and ignorance than anything else. And what ‘position’ did they take over the whistleblower doctor?
Our government have covered up countless atrocities in many conflict zones where the UK military has been involved, lied to us about Brexit, lied to us about Windrush, given secret aid to all manner of despotic leaders in nations where natural resources are valuable, covered up sex abuse scandals going back decades, etc etc. Those in glass houses. If you’re worried about authorities abusing power, you need to start looking a bit closer to home...
I'm hoping people remember this when, its eventually possible, booking hotels. I'll never use a Britannia Hotel ever again.Saw that on the BBC site this morning.
Apart from trying to get out of responsibility by saying, " Taking the latest government advice this letter is to confirm that with effect from 19 March 2020, your employment has been terminated and your services are no longer required.", which is rubbish and the the opposite of government advice, that letter must just about the worst I have seen when sacking someone.
Seems another hotel has offered the staff accommodation.
I can only hope Britannia Hotels suffer for such treatment of staff.
Dave
Its a pity the Macdonald Hotels seem to cater for a different price bracket, as it would be nice to switch custom to them, if possible.I'm hoping people remember this when, its eventually possible, booking hotels. I'll never use a Britannia Hotel ever again.
The oldies in my (or rather my wife's family) are being a right royal pain in the ass.
My wife's nan needed some shopping so we offered to get what she needed and drop it in to her, but she insisted she had to go out. If we didn't take her she was going to go on the bus.
So my wife offered to take her to Iceland for the early opening for the elderly. But no, she has to go to Salisbury (which at the time had no special hours for the elderly), and go to homebase to pick up some paint, and the garden centre.
She simply will not listen to advice. If we tell her we wont take her she will just use public transport and with my wife's granddad in poor, so we are pushed into taking her where she wants to go to at least stop her using the bus.
In the mean time we are all staying indoors, working from home and anything else to limit the risk of catching and then passing anything on to the olds. But it's ok, she went through worse in the war don't you know, despite being born in 1945. :banghead:

That's why I'm glad to be Scottish.....It’s not the first time I’ve felt ashamed to be British, it won’t be the last.
We can all say EVERY world wide government has lied one way or the other, did the Chinese government go to the doctor and tell him to stop spreading virus rumours about YES they did and imo he would of disappeared like many if he had not died and carried on. As said every government lies, and we don`t really know when this virus may go either.
Same here - I must bake bread at least 4 times a month and can I find yeast???
In a couple of weeks time it may be legal to shoot them. It would do us all a favour.some people deserve a slap.

Make them work in the mortuaries handling the poor unfortunate people who have died due to the virus. In a couple of weeks time it may be legal to shoot them. It would do us all a favour.
I would rather be thought of as a citizen of the worldThat's why I'm glad to be Scottish.....

this is almost certainly due to their live wet markets
It’s not about pointing a finger or scoring any political points, it’s about tackling the problem and source and doing the right thing for humanity.
Yep. Unless we had a shared dream.Did. I really just hear Tim Martin say that pubs should stay open because no-one had been infected in pubs???
Do you have 100% proof of this? No; you don’t. Here, is the difference between FACT and OPINON. Unsubstantiated opinions are what creates fear and hatred.
’Almost certainly’. Let’s wait until it is 100% proven then, eh? So far, this claim is unsubstantiated by actual science and scientists. Whilst it MAY be true, we don’t yet know this. Let’s stick to facts, eh?
Well, pointing the finger is exactly what you’re doing. And does tht really matter at this stage? This is exactly what ****s like Trump are doing. And it will create fear, hatred and division. And people will suffer as a result. And theres enough suffering already.
And what harm will that do to the country? I don’t see how that can work?
