More from the backlog. These are from September 2017. I shortlisted and processed them at the time but then put them to one side and forgot about them, perhaps because I wasn't quite happy with the image quality. Today I reprocessed the shortlisted raw files using my current workflow and threw out a few of them. These are 8 of the 11 that I kept. There are 1300 pixel high versions in this album at Flickr.

The images were captured hand-held with a Panasonic FZ330 small sensor bridge camera with a Raynox 150 and a Venus Optics KX800 twin flash. The raw files were batch processed in DXO PhotoLab and Silkypix, with image-specific adjustments in Lightroom before outputting as 1300 pixel high JPEGs to which I applied Topaz DeNoise AI on its lowest settings.

Great photos - fantastic detail!!

Another great set, each and everyone!
#1 is the winner for me though Nick (y)

Very nice, could number 7 be Scathophaga stercoraria, ?

Why don't you work through the back log chronologically, I would have done it all year 1, all year 2 etc but you don't seem to have any order.

The Yellow Dung Fly, yes I believe it is.

Why don't you work through the back log chronologically, I would have done it all year 1, all year 2 etc but you don't seem to have any order.

Being methodical would be too much like "work"; I'd probably get bored. Also, the ones around any particular date tend to be quite similar in terms of subject matter and so I get more variety by jumping around at random, which helps avoid going stale on it.

I do have rather a large number to deal with. For example, I just opened up some folders at random. Almost all of these haven't been processed yet (the only exceptions being one session folder marked "P&UL" (for "processed and uploaded") and one marked "NOT USED" and a higher level month folder marked "All done". They will be removed in my next periodic clearout).

All up to your usual very high standards Nick well done
