Thundersport - new season is go, go, go

First 'proper' race of the season (only had a few hours in the morning) and need to get my head around the settings on the 1DX for when 'my' season starts, due to the amount of photo's I normally take over a race weekend and the timeline for getting them to the 'boss' I shoot in jpeg - hence trying to get the settings sorted for 'in camera'.

I think I need to probably push the saturation up a notch and maybe the onboard sharpness (remember these settings are for jpeg shooting only) Not overly impressed with them but as a start point it will do - (through the fence on these so you may see some artifacts or banding on a couple) normal race set up of the 70-200 mkII and 1.4 mkIII extender, normally trackside so closer to the action hence these being a bit small in the frame. Opinions please:

#1 1/250, f/7.1, iso 100, 280mm - on the edge

#2 1/500, f/5.6, iso 100, 280mm - see what I mean about saturation, reds need a little 'boost'

#3 1/160, f/11, iso 100, 280mm

#4 1/320, f/8, iso 100, 280mm - yes I know too fast but that wasn't why I was there - Gravity doesn't work like that!

Very nice David.

Had my first ever visit to Thundersport on Sunday and must say it was some excellent racing.

The 1DX is a beast once you get it set up how you want but the trouble is you wont ever be happy again with any backup body other than a second 1DX ;)

Liking both pans David those bright conditions made it tough you did well with these I was there Saturday I gave up shooting the bikes dropping down from Druids was so bright in the morning

Very nice shots considering the harsh sunshine.(y)

Thanks guys, Glen - I hope so, not overly impressed with it compared to the mk4 as yet but haven't really had a chance to use it in 'anger'.

Did you get to see the young lad who won 3 out of the 4 125 races? 12 years old and he was awesome - he will be one to watch for sure.
He is the one with the rookie vest on (first race on a 'big' circuit)

It was my first Thundersport meeting bud and was very impressed with it,that young lad was amazing to watch i must admit including his outside overtakes on a few places.
The 1DX will grow on you but the MKIV had something special about it aswell, still miss the 1.3 crop that gave you the best of both worlds.

I never liked my 1DX to start with, and I was only coming from a MKIII. After a bit of time and playing with the different options and control layouts I began to love the camera, and now I cant be without it.

1 was the best for me, probably take a wee while to get used to your new camera.
