Tour of Britain 2016 - Attempts at panning!

Only viewed on my phone but I think no 1 is the best shot of Wiggins. Plenty of space in front of the rider so there's space in the shot for where he's going to be shown.

Thanks for commenting, I like that one to but as you will see on your normal screen the rider isn't Wiggo, just one of his team ... I didn't see him at all on the time trial.
I think they're awesome :) love the wheel in number 1
Thanks, it's something I will need to practice, much easier at faster shutter speeds :D

Nice work and smooth technique on the panning.
All shots are showing a nice flow and movement.

A great set of photos and pure bike porn [emoji106]

Panning technique looks great. The first two work better for me as backgrounds are less distracting.

These are nice panning shots (1st 2 have better backgrounds) Gramps - I know you were only having a go at the technique but if you were employed to do a full set of say bike sportive pics in which you try to get every entrant, what would you say your hit rate would be in delivering a saleable shot for everyone that entered?

A great set of photos
Thanks :)

Thank you, yes it wasn't a particularly good site when I got there due to residents cars being taped off so they couldn't be moved. :)

Thanks Adrian, I didn't do too many as checking the LCD in the gloomy drizzle I didn't think they were working too well so I upped the shutter speed again.
It wasn't until getting them on the computer that I realised the lower shutter speed images weren't too bad, I can only guess that maybe 40-60% would have been okay.
When I upped the shutter speed then most would have been fine, except that I would probably have realised that the backgrounds weren't well thought through ... I guess if I were "employed" to do it I would have paid much more attention to where I would position myself. :)
