hmm set my watch thread too early me thinks :tumbleweed::whistle:
Not at all I usually start these things about 6 weeks in advance for people to read the "rules" check out the themes etc
And then make their minds up, if they want to have a crack at it, or not :)

Wonder how long i will manage this time. Really want to complete it for 2019.

You've a spreadsheet to look after ;)
You have already been mentioned in dispatches, hard luck, its your baby now :D

And in case you haven't seen it, the subscribers are in the first post of the sign up thread, to save you searching (y)

Hello fellow 52ers, I have a newbie question regarding monitoring the threads of fellow 52ers for critiquing purposes.

Do you 'watch' all the photo threads of fellow 52ers?
Do you click the 'New posts' button regularly, to keep tabs on other 52ers?
Or do you have a different method, or none of the above?

Just curious....this is my first 52.:)

Hi Gareth, what I do is Click Watch thread on the posts where the photos are only put in plus a few of the members threads I click on Watch.

It will always show up on Alerts top right of your screen.

I've noticed that after a period of inactivity, when 'watching' a thread, I no longer get alerts. Seems like a week or so of inactivity, so it's probably not relevant for the 52 threads which should hopefully be regularly updated.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yes I have and normally find I need to revisit the thread manually for it to start again.

This is what I've been doing too.
Only mildly annoying, and again hopefully won't be an issue for the 52 threads.

I wonder why the 'time limit'?

I wonder why the 'time limit'?

Just been sitting here having a bit of a think, and of course if a particularly avid 'thread-watchers' older threads were revived, or any inactive watched threads older than a couple of weeks for that matter, then one would get potentially 100s of alerts!

Now it makes sense....I think we can consider this matter closed! :D

I work from the "Post your images here" thread and pick up from wherever I left off last time. It's a simple solution and seems to work for me.

Thank you @Manxmaid, I will probably do that also. :)

If you "ignore" an alert and don't open it, you won't get anymore until you visit that thread again.

Welcome to my world :D

You can also "unwatch" a thread top right just above the first post on any given page, and then you get no more alerts, for that one.

I accidentally saw it once, I was referring to @GarethB "horror movie" comment
As that was scary :D

Let me be absolutely clear on this....I must assume that the use of the word "horror" (heavy emphasis on the inverted commas) is purely ironic. The tiny size of the budget and the quality of the acting were the only horrific things about this!:D
The only thing I can surmise is that there seems to be a slight trend for these types of films....very low budget, tongue-in-cheek shlocky "horror" films - see the Sharknado (IMDB link) franchise....they're supposed to be so bad, they're good!
(Only they're not good....they're just bad....really bad!!)

They're churned out in their dozens every year in America, and we get to watch them on low-rent digital freeview channels like the "horror" channel every afternoon! Lucky us!!:D

The film was called Miami Magma (IMDB link) and I definitely do not recommend it!

It was followed by Snowmageddon (IMDB link) - another "classic"

I think you can see a pattern emerging here....seems to me that once you've secured your $26 dollar budget, you simply choose a random natural disaster and add -nado or -mageddon to it, employ a handful of never-heard-of-never gonna-hear-of actors, drop in a couple of ageing ex-pornstars who laughably want to be taken seriously, scratch out a script whilst on the toilet (probably)....roll credits....roll out!!
Obscurity awaits!:D

Hmm....how do I bring this back to topic....ah yes....I wish the unwatch feature worked for this too....only it doesn't so I s'pose my rant is completely meaningless....sort of how I feel after watching that film!:D

Could you start the 52 early by any chance....it'll get me out of the house perhaps!!:D

Sorry!

A big YES, come on in now. Use the next few weeks as a practice run and get yourself into a weekly routine.

You mean gate-crash the remaining 2018 52 challenge?
That's a pretty good idea!

Unofficially of course, wouldn't want to mess up the official threads, and I certainly wouldn't expect to be critiqued....as you say just for practice.(y)

Too late to join unofficially.
I've already made a mental note to add you to the official spreadsheet when I get back from MCM tonight.

mwhahahah. Another victim...

Indeed ironic I was referring to daytime TV per se' being "horrific" ... Jeremy kyle and the various "Judges" wtf.
I think that they should get judge Dread or judge Jeffreys to preside that should liven things up a bit (y)

As others have said, (y)

Very kind of you @LC2 and @Cobra , I wouldn't want to cause you any more work, and indeed, I realize it's way too late to even join unofficially.... completely understand.

I was thinking I would just set up my own thread, but not link any images to the official threads, so as not to clutter them up and create extra burdens for others.

I wouldn't expect any critique either....time is precious, especially this time of year!

Just thought I could bimble around in the corner, not cause any trouble, whilst getting a sense of how it all works....and trying not to break anything!:D

mwhahahah. Another victim...

Now I'm frightened!:exit:

Ahh, I see what you mean....I agree, I draw the line at those hideous shows....Jeremy Vile Kyle....he's the worst of the lot....an utterly detestable turd!

I don't like to say nasty things about anyone, but in his case, I'm happy to make an exception!
A truly hateful ******* **** ***** ******* **** ****....and that's swearing!!!:D

I don't know who Judge Jeffrey is, but if he can tear them a new....you-know-what....he gets my vote!:D

I don't know who Judge Jeffrey is,

George Jeffreys, (15 May 1645 – 18 April 1689), also known as "the Hanging Judge"
:D
