Tripod Recommendations

Hi..

I have just purchased a 600mm f4, and a gimbal head, feeling my current tripod isn't up to the job.. What tripod would you recommend, heavy duty, I do shoot low most of the time but need good stability at full height..

Any help would be appreciated..

You don't say what tripod you currently use, but I use a Gitzo 5532 systematic, which truly is 'rock solid'.

I'm 6ft and most of the time, do not need to fully extend it (especially with the gimbal mounted). At the other end, it goes down to 4" off the ground, so great for low level.

I bought mine on ebay and saved a fortune. Any of the Gitzo 5 series would be good, but buy the right one once, rather than settling for second best and wanting to upgrade in a few months!
