Because of problems with my KX800 flashes I had another go with a Yongnuo YN24EX today. I've tried it before but I wasn't happy with the illumination I was getting with it despite trying various diffusion arrangements. That was with the flash heads mounted on the front of the lens. Today I attached the flash heads to a flash bracket with bendy arms. I re-used the KX800 diffusion setup. Here are some images from today's session where I was testing out this setup.

They look pretty good Nick - diffusion is well spread with few hotspots.

These bendy arms - where were they from and what have you put as diffusion on the Yongnuo heads? Can you put up some photos of the set-up please?

Paul.

Thanks Paul. I got the bracket with bendy arms from Amazon, but that particular one isn't available now. There are several others that look exactly the same (link).

I re-used the diffusers from my KX800.

The diffusion layers are "plastic paper". I don't know exactly what they are. I bought them from a local shop, now closed, where they bought large sheets of whatever it was and cut it up to A4.

The boxes on the flash heads have a second layer of plastic paper on the inside.
