Went for a trip to RAF Leeming Bar today as I heard there was 4 Turkish f16's there till the 24th for some international exercises. Anyway got a few keepers but thought id just post one up here to see what people thought.

It was taken with a D7100 and a 80-200mm f2., shot at 1/1000 @ f5

Very nice quality shot there Lee.

Guys, why just say nice shot, lovely shot. Why, explain what you like...

For me it's nicely exposed for the plane, there's detail in the shadows which would be easily lost. It's position in the frame is good, flying into the frame and you've been lucky with it's attitude as the angle exposes a lot of its underside detail.
There's some glare on the cockpit, do you use a polariser? That might have bought a little detail to the pilot, possibly brought the sky up slightly?

thanks for all the good comments.

byker28i, no i don't generally use a polarising filter. I usually only use them when shooting cars o remove the glare from windscreen/paintwork. May give it ago on the planes next time :)

Cheers for the feedback, I also use the on cars, thought it would work on planes as well. So tried it and it did!
