It was my son’s 5th birthday earlier this week, and naturally the camera came out. I caught him trying to blow two balloons up at the same time (unsuccessfully I might add).
I’ve also been trying new processing styles, using the tutorials from Chromasia.

I was about to ask about your pp, thanks for anticipating that already and posting a link :D

Lovely shot!

Hi Marcel
Nice to get the birthday shots in the bag to look back on.
Nice job there too.

Some top shots & processing on that link you've added - cheers.
Must have a go at that one day myself.

Thanks chaps.
I'm still very much a 'slider jockey' (no sniggering from the back thankyou!), so alot of it is luck rather than judgement.

Here's a brief rundown of the processing

Imported into Lightroom and set the following

Then :

Then :

Then add a little vignetting

Then into photoshop
Duplicate the base layer, and set the new layer blend mode to Lighter Colour and dodge around the iris of the eyes. (Midtones, set to to around 30%, very very gently).
Then create a curves adjustment layer, with the blend mode set to luminosity

For reference, here's the original, as shot

Not an incredibly massive difference, I'm sure you'll agree. But I think it's brought out a bit of life into the shot.

Thanks very much :) I've always admired the way chromasia processes his shots, and can bring them to life with processing. I won a 50% discount to a tutorial account so treated myself :p

Great shot Marcel and excellent processing (y) I was about to start a thread to ask if anyone knows anything about Chromasia! I guess this answers that thread before it's even started.

Thanks chaps. I can recommend his tutorials if you have a head for reading and learning!
