Hi all,
Ive been out today and what a surprise, the local forestry people have cut lots of grass and whatnot back so finding insects is not as easy, anyway while chasing a Butterfly and losing it I thought I saw a Ruby tailed wasp then this mantis moved and
Here is one shot from many, this being the better one, I really like this pose as it shows the head and tail/body.
I believe this is called a "unicorn" mantis although there are many different types but all similar.

Empusa pennata or cone headed mantis nymph, wished we had mantids in the UK
