As it's a quiet time in this forum I'll add a few more scanned Ektachromes from the 70's.......

EA-3B Skywarrior. This dropped in at Mildenhall on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Security paranoia was still a few years off so we enquired at the main gate if it would be possible to visit the Navy pan for a quick photoshoot. No problem, popped into the tower to sign the visitors log and spent half an hour wandering around the apron....sounds quite surreal in this day and age doesn't it?
This particular aircraft was based at Rota in Spain and came to a tragic end some years later. Attempting to land on the USS Nimitz, it came in too low, sheared off the landing gear and went over the side with the loss of all seven aboard.

Convair C-131F Samaritan....a coomunications aircraft for the Mildenhall Naval Facility. There were two of these hacks based at Mildenhall throughout the 70's and it's sister ship ended it's service days as the hack at Guantanamo Bay.

And finally a P3C Orion shot about 1972-3
