Vaping in Mono

I was asked to shoot an outdoor birthday party recently. One of the guests was walking into the sunlight whilst vaping. I noticed the smoke looked great backlit, so I asked him if he's mind me shooting one of him, to which he obliged. I used a fast shutter to try and get this shot. Some p&p, though not excessive. All comments welcome.

Not sure what that is to be honest, although I have an inkling that it could be light between gaps in the trees.. .. I'll have to check the original raw image and find out.. ..

Whatever it is, it adds depth to the image IMO.
Looking at it the first time, I immediately enjoyed
that feature in the BG.

I liked the smoking gun bit too, though admittedly, i didn't notice it until i got it on the monitor. Kodiak, i too thought it added something, but couldn't put my finger on it.
