B&W Waiting to Sail

I spent the day around Ullswater on Saturday with some friends from my camera club. Weather conditions weren't the best, and it ended up being a 'big stopper and convert to monochrome' day to try and do something with the very flat and uninspiring light. This was taken a little after sunrise at Pooley Bridge as one of the Ullswater Steamers waited for their first passengers of the day.

Thanks Alf. I was pleased with a couple of Saturday's images, including this one. The weather made us work for them, and this one in particular cost me a welly full of cold water (never seen waves like them on Ullswater LOL), but it was just great to be out again in the Lakes .

Thanks . I'm pretty sure the Steamers run all year round, albeit with a reduced service in the off season.

They're Steamers, and always will be Steamers regardless of the fuel they run on!
