Wasp- gathering nesting material

I was watching one doing just the same on my fence yesterday. A post and rail fence that's years old. It might have had the odd brush of preservative when it was new but............ The cats used to jump up on the post and strop their claws on the top rail. At least the wasps do a lot less damage. I've only once had one try to nest in the house.

Looks good! Is that without extension tubes etc? Just bought a 105mm 2.8 too and hope to actually use it this time (unlike my last one)
Off to Portugal in a few months and hoping for lots of critters to photograph there

Just the lens around 3 inches from the stinging bit :)

"Excellent" macro shot, with good colour and detail.

George.

Not to mention Dangerous too :)
I'd be worried if they really were that size too :D
Tip, Wasps et al have a "fight path" when collecting food or nesting material, as long as you never stand directly in it you're fine (y)

Nicely done Les (y)

Thank you - very kind of you to say.

I'll bear in mind the flight path thing

Les :)
