Hi rick, looks like it’s just floating in blackness?
Because it’s not “grounded” the angle also feels a bit uncomfortable to me.

Looks like you’ve just lit it from above but as the face is blatch I might have got that completely wrong :LOL:

Are you trying to achieve product style shots?
 
I agree with the above, Rich. Check out Jonas Rask's product shots of his Fuji's. May need tweaking colour wise for watches but they make bloody lovely viewing.
 
Thanks for th comments, much appreciated. I'm not trying to create product shots, just trying to get ore comfortable wit indoor lighting. :)

What did you use, Rick? Needs to be a tad wider and more diffused to my eye, May be just moving the source slightly would help.
 
I used a AD600 and an AD200, one with a soft box and the other with a honeycombed reflector. I was just messing about really, I'll have a better go with some other shots next weekend and try again. Thanks.
