Shape of the head, patch behind the eye and distinct change of feather from side to top does it for meThanks,hope so as it would be a first for me.
Saw this on a buzzard the other day. Doesn't look niceHi Simon, almost every Chaffinch I've photographed around our area (and surrounding villages) appears to have this problem. Speaking to the local KoS guy, and he said it's a very common problem amongst them. Poor little things, they certainly walk/hop gingerly whilst affected

Thanks. Yes it does. Unfortunately I couldn't get a decent full view shot as it was standing in amongst the reeds.The black swan looks as thought it's knitted, great detail
