What birds or bird have you seen today – communal thread, I hope!

Hi Tom, nutchatches are really photogenic. You got a great shot of this one, congrats.

Love them. It was only c. 10 years ago they were very scarce up here. Now, they're in every woodland just about thankfully.
 
Had a walk around Cossington Meadow near Leicester earlier with the boy. The light was patchy but cannot complain. I did not get to photograph everything but we saw plenty of birds including: goldfinch, shovellers, teal, goldcrest, kestrel, cormorant, heron and a few others plus a fox. A few from this walk are given below:

Getting back upto speed with the mirrorless is not being helped by stupid birds flying too fast or the wrong way:D still its a sad day when you cant have a laugh.

And the summer head fethers are dark brown not black . Strange ay !
