What birds or bird have you seen today – communal thread, I hope!

Had a few Waxwings turn up locally and managed an hour this afternoon, even had some sunshine!

Waxwings were very flighty, Redwings a little more obliging

No Birding this Winter for me(struggled for time/motivation etc.)
Good to finally see a Black Cap in my garden this year/Winter though.DSC_8061-copy-to-800.jpgDSC_8071-copy-to-800.jpgDSC_8077-copy-to-800.jpg

A female Black Cap in my garden, feeding in the Ivy. Its the 1st sighting of a Black Cap in my garden this Winter(seen a couple of days ago).
I shot this from my upper bedroom, leaning the lens against the window(not ideal conditions) but the light was good!

Nikon V1/nikon 1.4 teleconverter/ Nikon afs 300mm 1.4 lens.
M 1/500 F5.6 ISO 200. Handheld/Jpeg. Images are not cropped.

This beautiful lady is a regular visitor to the garden -

These are the first images taken with a secondhand 70-200 f2.8 I've just bought (with a warranty) so am hoping the poor focusing is due to me and not the lens at fault.

A couple of Nuthatches from today

#1 This is a sunflower seed, there are many like them, but this one is mine....
