Yep, and he did it to catch their reflections! It would be a lesser shot without them, and it's one of those where the reds actually help the photo rather than spoil it.
 
I think this picture would have worked from a distance with the family smaller and showing more of the landscape. You could have cloned them out when you got home...... :coat:

As Peter said, they really make this picture more interesting.
 
Makes a nicer shot with them. All family members when out with a 'togger must wear something red - it's the law!
 
The inclusion of the people makes this a much better shot than just the landscape alone, I guessing, knowing your photography, you knew that already and are just having a joke ;)
 
Not ruined at all!
I think it's rather lovely just as it is.
