Wildlife in Cumbria/Lake District

I've asked in talk locations, but as I'm leaving tomorrow I thought I'd ask here as maybe more relevant.

I'm heading to the lake district tomorrow for the week and my original plans may be ruined by either weather or my injured knee.

So I was wondering (as I have a new lens to test out) if there are any good wildlife spots near there, I'm thinking Red Squirrels, Deer or well anything really, and also if maybe there are hides to hire.

Not sure about wildlife spots in Cumbria, sorry, but head over to Kielder Forest in Northumberland for some red squirrels!
