What's it got in its beak... a little bit of bread and no-cheese? No wonder it keeps going on about it!

Thanks for posting the photos of a not so often heard, let alone seen, farmland (historically, rather than these days, it would seem) bird.

Looks like a yellow caterpillar . If I go back I will have to take my macro lens with me it’s heaving with insects up there
