Hi, I think this is only the second post I have put up here; have to start somewhere !

Anyway, would appreciate C&C on this one. To me it is a bit blown on the chest but I like the engaging stare.

I suspect that you have pulled back the highlights and whites?
The result is that the image is very dark and has lost the beauty of the colour of the bird - of course I could be totally wrong but the end result is the same :)
 
Hi gramps I have reduced the exposure by about a stop which stopped the chest from being too blown and bought out the detail.
 
Quick edit and upload into Phoobucket. Below is the shot as taken with a crop and sharpen. I agree that the colours are less muted and probably preferable.

Ha ! Just found this one (below) which was shot in less challenging lighting conditions. Much more colour there ! Hope you like gramps ?
