Was each frame correctly exposed such that a single frame could have been posted but stacking just provides more detail? Could you post just a single frame for comparison please as I would like to do something similar and would like to see the benefits of multiple exposure over single frame. Wasn't pink where I live either.

It was likely pink for a minute or two just after sunset. That's how it normally behaves. "Pink" actually has quite little to do with colour of the moon, probably more with pink blossoms common at this time of the year. Look at other names for other months. It gets even more crazy like "blood" moon.
