Yet Another Sunset

Yes, it's just another sunset, but the rays passing through the clouds caught my eye. It was very much a grab shot, I was at my desk at the home office and turned round to see this. No time to get filters or a tripod, it was only going to last for a minute.

Adjustments: Shadows lifted to show a little of the mist a touch of vibrance and clarity, followed by noise reduction in Nik (the camera is a 7D) to finish.

Certainly good potential in that shot.
I would crop out half of the dark area at the bottom because it is essentially dead. Then perhaps give the brightness and contrast a tweak to give the sky a little more "punch".

Thanks Doug - that's good feedback, especially about the bottom section. I kept it there based on a misguided attempt to keep to the "thirds". Lifting the shadows in the bottom section just produced a lot of noise, so it needs to go!
