Yet another thread on Iceland

Just returned from Iceland which looks as though it was the quietest period for the Arurora which was the main objective of the trip. It is a fantastic place although very expensive. The scenery and weather is breath taking!

I've posted some of these pictures on 500px and I find the feedback there interesting compared to the pictures I thought were good. Will be interested in your critique

Continued......

Some of these are a bit small to see clearly for critique - for example 3, which at this size doesn't have much to say for itself, may look far more interesting larger. There's also too many for meaningful crit.

Not sure what you mean by the pictures looking small as they all look the same size from the desktop? Perhaps I've cocked up in uploading (they links to 500px). Interestingly, they look very soft on the desktop yet when I've viewed via the app on my tablet they look sharp.

I wasn't looking for an indepth critique but perhaps the odd comment on where I could improve or where people think one or two aren't up to it etc. I'd love to go back to Iceland but only if it devalues it currency - wow, it was expensive.

They look to be around 900X700px ish on my screen (firefox) and not tremendously crisp, though not especially soft either. I wonder if something has gone awry with the posting/hosting, because your images are usually a cut above these.

Are you sure you've seen some of my previous images before :ty:

Whilst I'm not trying to push people to my 500px account I am now intrigued about the image quality. If you wouldn't mind reviewing the following :-

Much appreciated. I use 500px to display on here as I don't use the other picture hosting sites and I find it a faff to upload directly to this site - clearly I'm doing something wrong :banghead:

Steve - they look much very better because they are larger and it's possible to see details clearly, so the yellowish muddy grass of no.6 above becomes clearly grass that's suffered under snow. A small irony is that the stars look crisper in the aurora shot, but c'est la vie. ;)

The river image (5 above) is fabulous at that size, and much clearer.

Thanks for the feedback. Curious as to how TP is displaying the pictures for you. Like I said earlier, they are big enough when I look at them but they do appear to be soft. Looking on the app they appear fine.

I only do internet through conventional computing, so maybe things are adapting for mobile devices to the detriment of larger screens.
