First time I have really had a go with the D750, for more than the odd shot

D750 + Nikon 600mm f4 + a range of ISO settings, up to ISO 1000
all similar sized crops, except the last image
ISO 1000 works well IMHO

shots taken in back garden ... we have quite a big garden and part of it is natural
These Great Tits were born in the garden and seem to be staying around, unlike the Blue Tits which have vanished?
There were 4 just over a week ago - now there are only 3

Looking pretty good Bill ... I am wanting to see what the D750 is like for BIF :)

Hi Roger

is the D7200 similar at high ISO as I'm thinking about upgrading my D7100?

later this week, if the light is OK I am going to look at ISO 1000 to ISO 2000, using the D750

no BIF yet with the D750

For "bird" photography, it would be good to compare a D7200 image at say up to 10 metres with a cropped image giving the same "photo" from the D750 and D810 ...... i.e. in a hide situation

all images - D7200, D750 and D810 cropped to show the same image

what is the best Nikon body for "bird" photography ...... the type of shots that we take 80% of the time???

The FX D750 seems to be beating the DX D7100 by quite a margin especially at ISO 400 and above

ISO 2000

It is very good on five point group.

Interesting question and I wonder if there is any 'one-beats-all' option.
D7200 gives good ISO + good AF + good price.
D750 gives better ISO + good AF.
D810 gives good ISO + good AF + superb crop options.

How about the D4S/D4 Roger?

D4S is superb ... it's a lot of camera for a lot of money but IMO doesn't catch anything better than the D7200, plus the D7200 makes my 500 f4 a 750 f4.

Maybe it could depend on the lens?

But I suppose the comparison (for you as you have a D4), is - is the D7200 + 500 f4 "better" than the D4 + 500 f4 cropped?

D4 has gone Bill ... D7200 is 24Mp, D4 is 16Mp so cropping to say DX mode gives you 6Mp.

I suppose that the D7200 at 24Mp and DX has the same pixel density as the D810 ....

wouldn't that be 10Mp - i.e 16Mp divided by 1.5
Possibly Bill, I thought I had read that figure somewhere ... what I do know is that the image from a D4 in crop-mode can take a huge hit. Having used a D800 on the other hand, I know that the resolution on a cropped image can be incredible ... in wildlife terms that can make a huge difference in making a distant subject usable as an image.

Even in very poor light the D7200 at just 24Mp can make a big difference with a crop ...
