Young Sunflower

Just been into the garden before the sun gets too bright and hot and thought I'd try my hand at photos of flowers as it was very still. Took this one of a young sunflower which is in amongst the wild flowers. Used the Nikkor 60mm macro lens and cropped, USM & colour boost in Capture NX. Does it look OK? I quite like the dreamy effect of the petals offset against the sharpness of the centre.

Very nice - shame about the white stuff (is it pollen?) in the middle.

Really draws the eye into the centre. Nice effect.

Shame about the white stuff. It's still a good shot, but I think that's the difference between a "good shot" and the superb image it could have been.

Sorry if that's a bit harsh. The focus and effect are bang on though.

Hey it's not harsh, it's just nature. If there was a sunflower without a shiny centre then I would have taken that shot. I could have manipulated it in Photoshop, but I'm not that good with Photoshop. I'm here to learn and that I will.
