Water Rail

That's nice. In photos they look larger than they are..that was my impression after seeing the first one at Slimbridge some years ago.
 
Great capture. The last time I saw one, was at a very high spring tide on the Dee estuary. Unfortunately, it was being predated on by a Greater Black-Backed Gull. Didn’t make it.
 
I'm yet to see one though hear them quite a lot at a local loch.
