Blonde Trans-pecos rat snake - Bogertophis sub ocularis, or at least this is the skin he lived in for a while before he shed it. Im planning or getting a few shots of him in the flesh at some point but i havn't figured out the best way yet.

What do you think?

Very nice something about this picture i really like.

I like the black background really brings it out. :)

Well... Now you know... Black works good with lighter objects, And white works better with darker objects... Contrasting colours! :)

I advice the best way to get shots of him would be just to get him out and photograph his every move you would be surprised at what you get... :) (y)

Well i'd have to leave the handling down to my mate who's the expert with the serpines, however, when he has got them out they're all over the place, so a fast shutter is probrably required and a lower f/#, what else should i consider.

When they are in their vivs they tend to take cover so are difficult to shoot so out being handled would be better but then the backgrounds can always be distracting.

I guess like with all photography its practice and patience
