Hi All,

I have never taken pictures of snow etc. before and went out for my first attempt today.

I had read that when taking pictures of snow the camera gets fooled into thinking it is very light so pictures can come out dark, it was suggested that you should set exposure bias to +1 stop

Here are the details of my settings:

f/7.1
1/60sec
ISO 100
Exposure bias +1 step
Focal length 18mm

Would appreciate comments and CC on how I can improve

Not bad. The exposure looks ok, maybe a touch lighter? I think you should have composed to either remove the post our make it more of a feature of the photo.

As said above exposure etc look fine, just the subject doesn't look too interesting (sorry )

Don't think you are too far off with the exposure. If you go much lighter, you risk blowing out the white at bottom centre.
