My second visit, but the first as a group of 4! Myself, Edmond22, CarlukeDave and CraigF. My take, and the first of 3 sets. Again, shadows, darkness and despair is what I feel in this place, and I hope to have got that across in these. Any C&C always welcome!!

Excellent set. By the quality of these I don't know how you kept yourself down to 19.

Don't worry, I have another 40 odd to submit :D Part 2 and 3, can't be arsed going through them all. These are the first ones.

Lovely gary, really captured a sense abanodnedness (sp?). You cant beat a spot of urban exploration. There is a disused mental hospital up here which is very easy to enter dispite the supposed security. It gives you the creeps at night thats for sure

Lattitude - 53°10'29.56"N
Longitude - 3°25'19.12"W



Red = parking place, Its hidden from the road and right next to a public footpath
Green = Walk down the footpath, a climb up a 4ft slope, hop over the fence and your away :D
Blue = All the buildings belonging to the Menal Assylum

Any time. Its safer under the cover of darkness if thats ok? Last time I visted the place was 18th December. I FINALY found my way to the projector room :D (pic off phone ftl)

I don't mind darkness, but HATE using flash, much prefer natural light shining through. I have balls of steel if your worrying about security, I can wear a kilt and bring a claymore?

I like your style. I havent personally witnessed this, but according to a friend who last visited in the day time, upon arrival to the hospital SWAT were practising breaking and entering :| I agree with the lighting situation. I think we arrive afternoon, general walk about and ill give you the tour. Another trip in the evening as i want to show you something very eirey to do with the main hall. I think its quite cool more than anything

If you were to come this weekend (or whenever) and wanted to do the home at night. I'm sure we could find somewhere to go in the afternoon, depending on what time you were coming.
 
Just catching up from a weekend away, these shots are friggin' awesome! They give me the willies just looking at a few of them, you can kind of picture people walking through the corridors and stuff... Spooky spooky spooky!!!

Love the one with the circular saw injury, the poor dude, that must of SERIOUSLY smart :D

Cracking set Gary, will definately be looking forward to sets 2 and 3!
 
Excellent set of photoraphs Gary. You've really captured the essence of this decaying building. Looking at your images makes me feel itchy but that's good I think :LOL:

Anyway keep up the good work :clap:
 
Can only repeat what the others have said - great set! My personal favourite is #5 Dead Cold, using the flash inside one of the small fridges shows some great creativity and makes this good shot an outstanding shot.

I was on call last night and I'm off today, thinking about heading down again for an hour or two!!:bonk:

Well if you fancy it on Saturday or Sunday morning, i'm in. I want to check the rest of the place out so I can add it to my "done to death" list :D
